At UIC Barcelona there are 24 research groups (SGR) recognised by the Government of Catalonia (2021 Call). 37% of the groups have a woman as their principal investigator. They are as follows:

In the 2021 SGR call, we incorporated a new research group composed of 87% female researchers, from the Department of Applied Linguistics, Psychology and Education. Multilingual Acquisition Research Group (GRAM). The group is led by Adriana Soto, a researcher and lecturer of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University, who has obtained a Marie Curie grant from the European Union to carry out her postdoctoral research project, under the title ‘MultiCat (Multilingual Catalonia)’. The research developed by Soto is investigating the protection of minority languages, the development of foreign languages and the integration of the languages of children newly arrived in Catalonia.
