New international double bachelor’s degree with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine

Beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year, the Faculty of Dentistry will offer a double bachelor’s degree continuity programme with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark (New Jersey, United States), adding this degree to the one already offered with the University of the Andes.

This agreement with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine which New Jersey’s only school of dentistry, establishes an international and collaborative programme that will allow students to obtain the double bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (BDS) and the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) over seven years.

Beginning in the 2023–2024 academic year, the School of Dentistry will offer a double bachelor’s degree continuity programme with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark.

The Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is one of the few state universities in the USA that lets international dentists complete the Internationally Educated DMD Program.

The Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is one of the few state universities in the USA that lets international dentists complete the Internationally Educated DMD Program. The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) programme is taught over two years and three months and allows graduates to obtain the American diploma and practice in the USA according to specific state regulations.

To be eligible to study at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, students must have successfully completed the bachelor’s degree in Dentistry at UIC Barcelona and meet all admission requirements, including the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INDBE). Fulfilling these requirements, they will be able to continue their studies at the North American university for 27 months, and thus obtain the double bachelor’s degree.
