Celebrating Saint Apolonia, patron saint of dentists

More than 120 people from the Faculty of Dentistry have participated in the 10th Santa Apolonia photography contest.

Once again the faculty held the traditional photography contest aimed at students, teachers and faculty staff, who presented their work in both the dental and free categories. On Thursday 9 February, the Sant Cugat Campus hosted the tenth edition of the traditional photo contest with 126 participants who presented 43 photographs in the dental category and 83 in the free category. The competition was open to all faculty staff.

Berta Boix, first prize in the dental field category for “Transillumination through fluorosis”. Elena Saez, first prize in the free category for "Reaching our future".

The dental category was aimed at students and teachers and received the collaboration of Sanhigia, Bienair and AD+Medical, who donated the prizes for the winners. In this category, the first prize went to Berta Boix Roca, who won 2.5X Galileo dental loupes for the photograph “Transillumination through fluorosis”. The second prize went to Berta Furio Alonso and her work “On a spider’s web”, which won a Bora 2 LED dental turbine. Jérémy Lambolez was awarded third place for the “Xmas Tree” photography, with which he won a wireless high power LED unit.

The free category was sponsored by Curaprox and first prize went to Elena Sáez Rodríguez for the photograph “Reaching our future”, with which she won a second generation set of Apple AirPods. In the same category Aleix Filloy Cavero won second prize with the work “Sea of Clouds” and was awarded a DAXGD loupe with speaker. Finally, third prize went to Alexis Pérez Paredes for the photograph “Stone and colour”, winning a Curaprox hamper.
